OK, I know I’ve communicated with some of you, or met some of you personally. But still…
If you’re reading this blog-like forgotten diary – I would like to know something about you…
Like who you are, where are you from, what do you like, where would you like to go… etc. Anything you would like to share with me….
You can do it at: alex _@_ technobeast.net (this should be read as alex at technobeast.net)
I will try to personally reply to everyone.
Thanks, dear Reader!
Well, I guess I’m not. I’ve decided to finish my university degree finally – well, the masters one. So if all goes well, I’ll be a master in computer science in two weeks time. Keep fingers crossed everybody.
What I thought was common cold turned out to be flu. Now I’m second day from total of four days “home arrest”. And on antibiotics too ![]()
…
Blah!
A short photo walk of my 23,24 May trip to Rai hut in Stara planina:
I stumbled across this clip yesterday. It features one of the participants in my Elbrus journey – Uti Bachvarov. The clip itself is in Bulgarian language. If I remember correctly – some of the parts are filmed by me
So, we started Day Two from a hotel nearby Asenovgrad. In the early morning we went to the Bachkovo monastery – the second biggest in Bulgaria after Rila monastery. To be honest – I wasn’t that impressed with it. Lots of commercialism there – everything is made for money. Everything is made so much modern, that you can’t even feel the spirit of the past times there. So, off we go to search for coffee
So it was time for a three day trip around Rodopi (Rhodope) mountain. By car, of course. And of course with the Audi – or THE AUDI
. We gathered 8 people in total – with two cars. Mine, and a Honda Civic.
Let’s start with a meeting from the previous day. We got to a friend to have some beers. Yeah, we got them – till 11 PM. And I had to get up at 2:30 AM. I got home, but somehow I couldn’t get any sleep. My mood was some kind of adrenaline-ous. So when the alarm clock started I only had an hour sleep. Never mind, I told to myself. Shower, final luggage preparation and at 4 AM off we go to the trip. I took my part of the group and drove the following route – Rousse-Veliko Tarnovo-Gabrovo-Shipka where we waited the other part of the group (they left the previous day, to extend their trip with a walk around Gabrovo). The Shipka pass welcomed us with a thick fog. We waited about an hours till the other part came and we were ready to leave for our first goal – Asenovgrad and the famous fortress. At about 10:30 -11 AM we were there.

Yeah, that’s right. First trip in the mountain for me after the surgery.
I made it the whole time… with slight help of painkillers on our way back.
I’m posting a link to my Picasa Gallery – ~LINK~
