W.A.S.P. in Lovech, Bulgaria

Like the previous day (Twisted Sister) Sunday was a part of Lovech Party Fest. And W.A.S.P. were the grand stars, the final act of it. Blackie and company were something I was curious to see, although I admit, they are not amongst my personal favourites (love ‘em, don’t get me wrong, just not as much as Blind Guardian, for example). Well - it was totally worth it.

We’re gonna “Burn in hell” - yeah, why not!

or in other words - Twisted Sister took our heads last night.

A great concert in Lovech city. Over 1 1/2 hours of favourite music out there, with thousands of other fans.Great songs including: “Burn in hell” (personal favourite), We’re not gonna take it, I wanna rock, The Price and of course S.M.F.

Great performance from everyone in band. Can’t say they are my personal favourite, but they made my day.

6 may - jogging

Well, after a few days of ‘rest’ I went for a short jog with Dido - about 20 minutes, 2.8 km on the stadium track.

The last couple of days I had some kind of cold and waited a bit for it to calm, but it still hasn’t. So I decided to do something to help it go away ;-).

1 May - legs

I did a quick jump to the gym today. The next 5 days are official holidays in Bulgaria, and my cousin is getting married tomorrow, so I don’t have much time for workouts (preparations, meetings, etc.). But I managed to do it today - yupee :-).

Today’s workout:

4 superseries of leg lifting and ab crunches;

4 series Hack squats;

3 series leg presses;

3 series leg curls;

9 things for the fitness newbie

… or so called “What I’ve learned so far”. I can’t say I have any visible results, but this is due to my lazyness mostly.

1. Be consistent - if you want to get results, they will most likely not appear in the first weeks (or even months, depending on your body type/diet/workouts). This is the time when you get discouraged. Happened many times with me too. Hell, it even happens now from time to time. So, if you want results - give yourself 3 months, and start doing it. Don’t expect anything in the first 3 months. Just do it, think of it as a way of getting ‘there’.

2. Adapt your gym schedule - OK, us, newbies tend to either overtrain or undertrain. Start carefully and pick a selection of exercises for each day. Create a diary (if you feel it will help) and note how you felt during each workout. Revise these often - you’ll be able to figure out what needs to be changed/removed. This way is much more easier and painless.

30 april - there’s a way to get tired

…. or “If you do it right, you’ll get tired faster” ;-)

Today’s workout:

4 superseries of leg lifting and ab crunches;

4 superseries of Arnold presses and biceps curls

4 series of lateral raises

3 superseries of standing calve lifting, sitting calve lifting and trapezoid raises.

10 minutes of elliptical running at avg. speed of 11 km/h.

This is part of a new workout scheme to keep me from getting too bored, tired, etc. I will review this in a while, after I feel some results. What I can tell from the first one - I’ve probably been doing some of the exercises incorrectly. Now when I do them right (considering right) I get much more tension in the working muscle and do the reps with lower weights.

Enough for today’s report. Stay healthy all…

May resolutions

1. Start getting up at 5:40-6 AM in the morning

2. Start running in the morning at least 2-3 times per week

3. Go to the mountains at least twice

4. Will not miss workout (when I’m in the city)

5. Maintain healthy diet throughout the whole month

This one is starting today. Too much pleasures, cheat meals etc. might prevent me from doing what I want.

Easter holidays

These are actually 2-3 days here in Bulgaria that people use to excuse overeating and laziness ;-). My gym will be closed today. Yesterday and tommorow it will be opened just for a couple of hours (not good for me). So workouts will be bicycling and walking around.

Yesterday I cycled for about half an hour, and I’m planning a short trip around tomorrow with some friends, if the weather allows it (pretty cloudy and rainy here).

Added: Just had an hour walk with the boots and the backpack (loaded with 10 kg. of newspapers) - nice, had some stair climbing, some up and down hills. So, a good workout today.

As promised I got back to the gym today. After 4 days of rest and mountaineering.

I’ll describe my workout like that:

Warm-up: 4 series leg lifting, 3 series ab crunches, 4 series hyperextensions

Power series: 4 series lateral raises, 4 series Arnold presses, 3 super series calve machine (both seated and standing), 4 series trapezoid muscles

Cardio: 10 minutes elliptical
